Chalet des Cimes

Welcome

Chalet

Hello, we are Mike and Sue Brinsley. Many years ago we developed a passion for the mountains, and having got fed up with the rat-race, we decided to fulfil our dream and create a home in the mountains. We invite you to join us for ski holidays in our beautiful chalet, located in the Tarentaise valley in the heart of the French Alps. Chalet des Cimes was built as a traditional Savoyard farmhouse in 1857 and has been completely renovated to give the best of modern living whilst retaining the character of the original building. En-suite bedrooms, under-floor heating, a spacious living room with log fire, dining room and a luxurious hot tub, and WiFi broadband internet access all contribute to give you a comfortable and memorable holiday.

Welcome

We want you to have maximum flexibility to book the holiday dates you want, so we will accept BOOKINGS BY THE DAY. You can arrive any day and leave any day so long as the minimum stay is 3 days. There are just a few exceptions to this; New Year and the Half Term periods are reserved for a minimum stay of one week. (Availability calendars are not generally good at handling this flexibility, so it's likely that the availability diary on this site doesn't reflect our true availability. Please contact us for accurate information.)

We are situated in a small hamlet just minutes away from some of the best skiing in the world - Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs, Sainte Foy, and La Rosiere with its link into La Thuile in Italy. We can choose where to ski each day, depending on the weather and snow conditions. We have our own transport to get you to and from your place of play each day and we'll lead you to get the best out of each resort.

The Chalet

The

The day begins with breakfast and talk of plans for the day’s skiing taking the weather forecast, live resort reports and guests wishes into account. Evening life tends to revolve around the chalet. The four course evening meal is the main event with delicious, creative food, prepared by a professional chef. You can relax on the comfy sofas around the log fire for your pre-meal drinks and after-dinner conversation. Maybe you will have taken a relaxing soak in our outdoor hot tub between returning from skiing and dinner. A music system (bring your own favourites), books and games are available for your amusement, as well as a video and DVD player (tucked away in its corner of the living room) and a selection of videos and DVDs. WiFi Broadband access to the internet is available. On bad weather days, you are welcome to stay in the chalet and make yourself at home.

Fun

Your bedroom can be configured with either a double bed or twin beds and you will sleep under a feather duvet (alternatives available for allergy sufferers!). Each bedroom has its own shower, toilet and handbasin, and the floor is heated.

The chalet package includes, breakfast, afternoon tea and cakes, pre-dinner drinks and nibbles and a high quality 4 course dinner with wine. We will also help you with all the other needs of a ski holiday - sorting out lift passes, equipment hire, ski lessons, etc

Ski

"IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, AND IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE" - One of our guests, summed up our location with this phrase.

Ski one resort or make it a multi-station 'ski safari' – the choice is yours. Stay with us and you can choose to ski any or all of the following resorts: Les Arcs (Paradiski linking into La Plagne) Val d’Isere, Tignes La Rosiere (linking with La Thuile in Italy) and Sainte Foy You can pick your favourite resort and stick with it, or ski a different resort every day. You can be independent or take advantage of the chalet courtesy transport to the chosen ski area of the day. We are passionate about skiing, and ski nearly every day. We will be happy to join you if you wish, to show you around an unfamiliar resort, share our favourite slopes, book restaurants for lunch and return via our favourite bars.

And if you are really after adventure we can arrange for a professional guide to take you into some of our fantastic off-piste areas.
