La Ferme du Chateau is a luxury catered chalet offering a high standard of ensuite accommodation for up to 16 people. It’s spaciousness and comfort combined with excellent levels of service and the attention to detail only found in owner run chalets combine to make a holiday at La Ferme very special.
The accommodation at La Ferme du Chateau combines the best of the traditional farmhouse; exposed beams, space and charm, with the comforts of modern living; tons of hot water, sunken Jacuzzi, wood clad open log fire and quality beds and linen.
There are 5 ensuite bedrooms and a studio apartment within the same building. All rooms can be twin or double rooms and most can easily accommodate additional beds without compromising on comfort. All rooms have Egyptian cotton linen, feather duvets and pillows ( anti allergen alternatives are available), quality branded toiletries, dressing gowns & hairdryers. The living and dining area occupy the old grange of the building. This is the perfect place in which to relax with 4 french windows leading out to the balcony and views across the Mont de Grange nature reserve, a central wood clad open fire, a snug area and mezzanine with TV & DVD
The Area
Chatel is a small farming village-turned-ski resort nestled in the heart of the Portes du Soleil - the world's largest linked ski area. Its development has been done with a sympathetic eye on its heritage. No high-rise concrete apartment blocks or hotels, just beautiful alpine chalets.
People have started to realise that Chatel has some of the best skiing in the whole ski domain. It is right at the centre of the Portes du Soleil circuit and benefits from easy links to Avoriaz - a high altitude purpose built resort. This is coupled with recent investment over the last few years as every winter season sees one or two new express lifts added.
Over recent years, keen skiers have been attracted to Chatel due to a mix of its beauty, the skiing, and the fact that the resort is a little less predictable than some of the more talked about British ski destinations (Mozine, Val d'Isere etc). Those in the know were also aware of the resort's excellent snow record. Being in the Northern French Alps, the Portes du Soleil never seems to be without snow even when some of the higher, more popular resorts are suffering. Indeed, Avoriaz gets the highest average snowfall (over 9 m) of anywhere in the Alps!

Cuisine & Services
Food and wine are an important aspect of the holiday and we offer a cooked breakfast along with fruit and cereals each morning, homemade cakes and biscuits with afternoon tea each day and an excellent 4 course evening meal with specifically chosen wine on 6 evenings. We also offer children’s supper for the younger skier and will accommodate any particular dietary requirements.
La Ferme du Chateau is run by me , Christine owner of the property, and my Savoie Faire team and I am on hand 24/7 to ensure that you have the holiday you want.
Standard services provided include transfers to and from Geneva, ski guiding on 4 days, minibus transport in and around the resorts of La Chapelle and Chatel which includes morning drop off at the slopes (unless skiing from the farm) and evening pick up and a shuttle service to and from the shops and bars in Chatel. We will organise all lift passes, equipment hire, lessons and childcare programs so that you spend your time relaxing and having fun. If you have non skiers in your party or particular requirements – special birthday, company event etc, then we will be happy to organise the necessary! A holiday at La Ferme du Chateau whether for a week or just a weekend is your holiday and we will do our utmost to ensure that it is the best.
