Chalet Macambuse

I have been successfully running my chalet in Courchevel for the past 18 years and live here all year round. Most of my guests return year after year and are now great friends. I offer relaxed home from home holidays at reasonable prices in a top class resort, a personal, informative and friendly service paying particular attention to detail ensuring guests want to return year after year and are happy to pass on their recommendations to others.

Chalet details

Situated on 3 floors, Chalet Macambuse is spacious and has a large living/dining area on the top floor.
There are comfy leather sofas, a high beamed ceiling, large picture windows and balcony.
There are 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms on this floor.
The middle floor has 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.
The ground floor (accessed by a seperate entrance) has 5 bedrooms each having their own bathroom.
There is a seperate ski and boot store, and heated boot warmers.

CUISINE

You will always have great food, varied and plentiful at Chalet Macambuse. BREAKFAST usually served between 8 & 9. Freshly baked french bread and a selection of jams, honey and marmalade, cereals, porridge, eggs,yogurt and fruit, all washed down with lashings of tea and coffee.

Afternoon tea awaits your arrival after skiing and offers home made cakes and biscuits. Pre dinner drinks and nibbles, evening meal at 8pm is a sumptious affair over 4 courses and complimented with local wines rounded off with coffee and chocolates.

COURCHEVEL - LE PRAZ

The first of the Courchevel villages you reach as you drive up the mountain, its ideally situated to reach the skiing and the surrounding areas.
Le Praz is only a 7 or 9 minute gondola ride from the skiing.
The gondola lifts are a 5 minute walk from the chalet but you can ski to just opposite the chalet on your return from skiing.

It also has the advantage of 4 runs back to the village, serviced by snow cannons and its possible to ski back to the village for the vast majority of the season, we skied back on the last day of the seaon this year, 25th April.

Le Praz has retained lots of character and charm and offers a genuinely warm welcome with typically french hospitality and atmosphere. It has its own bars and restaurants all with a real Savoyard feel. If you wish there is a free bus service which runs to the other Courchevel villages.

EXTRA INFO

REDUCTIONS; If you fill the chalet with 19, each person receives a £30 discount. If you have travelled with us before then you are entitled to a 5% discount from the basic holiday price. If you choose to make your own way to the chalet there will be a £50 per person reuction.

We have our own excellent selection of skis and boots for hire at the chalet. Ski tuition either private or in groups can be arranged for you. We will collect you at the airport in our comfortable 4 wheel drive car or minibus.

We are happy to arrange lift passes in advance.

THE SKIING

Courchevel in the heart of the huge 3 valleys ski area is suitable for all levels of skiers and boarders. With over 600kms of piste and 188 ski lifts, you will find beautiful tree lined runs, wide open pistes, steep couloirs, huge mogul fields, snow parks and half pipes there is plenty to keep everyone happy.
Even if you do not venture beyond the Courchevel valley you have access to 150kms of skiing, 102 ski runs serviced if required by 562 snow cannons. Courchevel has its own 160 person cable car, 6 seater chairlifts and 8 person gondolas plus magic carpets for beginners.
