Morzine Information & Webcams
The Resort
Morzine is a beautiful, traditional alpine resort set in the heart of the vast Portes Du Soleil ski area. The mix of French, British and Scandinavian visitors combined with the traditional chalet style buildings stand it apart from many other purpose built, almost entirely British resorts. Morzine is situated 1 hour 15 minutes from Geneva at an altitude of 1000m
Après Ski
There is a good selection of sports and gifts shops, creperies and patisseries all open until 7pm offering plenty of time for a full days skiing and some shopping in the evening. For those thirsty skiers there is a great choice of pubs. A favourite pub for Apres Ski straight from the slopes is the Crepuscule where dancing on the tables in ski gear is obligatory. After dinner popular choices are the Buddha, Dixie Bar, the Cavern and the Bowling Bar and then onto the Opera nightclub if you still have the energy.
For those who don't ski or snowboard there is plenty on offer: ice-skating; snow-shoeing; massage and jacuzzi; visiting the local fruiterie where they show you how they make the local cheeses; walks around the beautiful Lac Du Montriond; snowshoeing with a local guide; parapenting and skidooing for the adventurous; the weekly local market. Geneva , Chamonix and Annecy are all within an hour and a half drive away.
Skiing & snowboarding
Morzine is ideally situated for mixed ability groups due to its location with access to the slopes of Morzine and Les Gets via the Pleney lift on one side of the town and access via the Supermorzine lift to Avoriaz, Chatel, Le Croset and other Portes Du Soeil resorts. The Morzine and Les Gets ski area is fantastic for beginners and intermediates while Avoriaz and the other resorts not only have a good selection of blues but a wide choice of more challenging red and black runs and off-piste terrain.

Skiing & Boarding In The Portes Du Soleil
The Portes Du Soleil is the world's largest ski area with 650km of linked pistes spread over 12 resorts, 7 in France and 5 in Switzerland.
The huge variety of terrain from the gentle tree lined slopes of Les Gets and Morzine to the steep, challenging world cup downhill course at Avoriaz or the infamous Swiss WALL in Le Croset, means that there is a great selection of all grades of pistes and is ideally suited to mixed ability groups and families.
The Portes Du Soleil area is both skier and boarder friendly. The 3 board parks of Mont Chery, Le Croset and Avoriaz means you can while away the hours taking big air and practising those grabs. For hardcore boarders there is the half pipe in Avoriaz situated near the lift so an audience is guaranteed! For both skiers and boarders there is loads of off-piste easily accessed from the lifts just waiting to be discovered!
One of the main attractions of the Portes Du Soleil is it's sheer size and the stunning scenery.
