Ste Foy Information & Webcams
Skiing at Sainte Foy
Ste Foy feels a million miles from the hustle and bustle of France’s large ski resorts. You are unlikely to encounter any crowds or queues. More of an alpine village than a developed ski resort Ste Foy is well placed to give access to some of the best skiing in the Haute-Tarentaise and yet has more than enough skiing of it's own to keep all levels of skier happy. From the main village, Tignes and Val d'Isère are 15 minutes by car, Les Arcs and the Aiguille Rouge are 5 minutes away, La Rosière, with its links to the Italian resort of La Thuile is 15 minutes away, and La Plagne with the Bellecôte mountain is 35 minutes away.
Ste Foy itself is located between 1550m and 2620m. The views are breath-taking, and the resort is nestled amongst unspoilt forest. There is no high rise development and all new chalets blend into the environment with lauze roofs and traditional features. Ste Foy’s lower slopes offer wonderful tree-lined runs while the upper slopes provide truly breathtaking descents. You will find tree-lined greens, gentle blues, wide and fast reds and challenging blacks.

Off piste skiing, ski touring, heli skiing
Accompanied by a professional, you can explore one of the fabulous off piste routes with their stunning and unforgettable scenery:
• the listed village of Le Monal with spectacular views across to the glaciers on Mont Pourri
• the north face of Fogliettaz, one of the best loved off-piste routes in the area, much favoured by local mountain guides because of the quality of the snow which lasts long after other routes have been skied-out.
Sainte Foy is also well known for its ski-touring routes with attainable summits of between 3000 and 3800 metres altitude, such as the Archeboc and Ruitor peaks. You can also link up to the Italian valleys of Valgrisenche and Val d'Aosta just over the summit ridge that forms the border between France and Italy.
The Val d'Aosta is also renowned for it's heli-skiing, one of the few remaining places in Europe where it is not banned. Thanks to its border with this Italian valley, Sainte Foy is one of the only places in France where heli-skiing is still possible.
